Ayurveda has treatments for impotence.

What is erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is when a man can't get or keep an erection long enough to meet his own or his partner's sexual needs. "Impotence" is sometimes used to describe men who can't get an erection.

"Erectile dysfunction" can mean not being able to get an erection, not being able to get an erection consistently, or only being able to get short erections.

Ayurveda defines Erectile disorder

Shwaasaarthaha swinnagaatrshcha moghasankalpacheshtitaha means that even though a man has a strong desire to perform a sexual act with a willing partner, he can't do so because his phallus is loose (has no erection) (penis). Even when he tries hard to get an erection, he doesn't get one. Instead, he gets tired, sweaty, and frustrated when he tries to perform intercourse.

How a man gets an erection

The chambers of the penis, called the corpora cavernosa, are filled with soft tissue. The tunica albuginea is a membrane that surrounds the corpora cavernosa. The soft tissue is made up of easy muscle mass, fibrous tissue, areas, veins, and arteries. The urethra, which is how urine and sperm get out of the body, runs along the bottom of the corpora cavernosa.

The erection starts when the senses or the mind are stimulated, or both. Because of signals from the brain and nearby nerves, the muscles of the corpora cavernosa relax and let blood flow into the spongy tissue and fill it up.

Blood flow puts stress on the corpora cavernosa, which makes the penis grow. The tunica albuginea helps bring blood into the chambers, which keeps the erection going. When muscle tissue in the penis relaxes to stop the flow of blood and open channels for blood to leave, the erection goes away.

In Ayurveda, the following is said about the structure of the body during erection and ejaculation:

Vrishunow basthimedram cha naabhyuuru vankshnow gudam: One of the five styles of vayu is in the testicles, urinary bladder, phallus, umbilicus, thighs, groin, anus, and colon. It can release sperm, pee, and poop.

Shushruta talks about how to get an erection and ejaculate. When a person has a choice (iccha) about having sex, he will respond more to touch (Vayu placed in pores and skin causes drift of alerts from pores and skin to brain, for this reason inflicting sensation of touch). This wakes up, or "harsha," the mind. Harsha, which means "arousal," makes vayu's actions stronger, and at this moment, a very active vayu lets pitta's teja, or heat, out. So, tejas and vayu cause an erection by making the body's temperature, heart rate, and blood flow go up.

Why men get ED

Erection requires a sequence of events. When any of these things go wrong, erectile dysfunction can happen. This set of events is made up of nerve impulses in the brain, spinal column, and penis, as well as reactions in the muscles, fibrous tissues, veins, and arteries in and across the corpora cavernosa. ED can be caused by damage to any of the parts in this series (nerves, arteries, smooth muscle tissue, or fibrous tissue).

Less testosterone hormone: Testosterone is the most important hormone for men. After age 40, a person's testosterone level goes down in a steady way. About 5% of men who go to the doctor because they can't get an erection have low testosterone levels. In many of these cases, less sexual interest is caused by low testosterone, not erectile dysfunction.

Testosterone affects every part of a man's body.

Even Sushruta drew pictures of how the body reacts to the element "Shukra." He has stated "yatha payasi sarpistu goodashchekshow raso yatha shareereshu tatha shukram nrinaam vidyaadhbishagwara." With this method, shukra, the part that helps with replication, is present everywhere in the frame.

This can be seen in the following situations:

1. You can't see the ghee when it's in milk. There are many ways to get this from milk.

2. There is sugar on every part of the sugarcane. It is made by putting the sugarcane through a number of processes.

In the same way, shukra is in every part of the body. But the creamiest shukra (semen) is easiest to get out of the frame during ejaculation. But this way of ejaculating needs the mind and body to be in sync.

Erectile dysfunction is caused by less "Shukra" being made.

Erectile dysfunction is caused by both physical and mental stress, such as working long hours at the office, feeling stressed at work and at home, having a short temper, and not getting enough sleep.

These reasons are called "shoka chintaa, bhaya, traasaat" in Ayurveda. Because of this, grief, fear, tension, and terror can cause erectile dysfunction or impotence.

Stressful relationship with sexual partner: Erectile dysfunction can also happen when you don't like your sexual partner.

According to Ayurveda, this is a "naarinaamarasamjnatwaat..." approach that women don't like.

Diseases that can cause erectile dysfunction include neurological problems, hypothyroidism, Parkinson's disease, anemia, depression, arthritis, endocrine problems, diabetes, and diseases of the heart and blood vessels.

Ayurveda says that diseases like heart disease, anemia, asthma, liver problems, and tiredness can cause erectile dysfunction. A tridoshas imbalance can also cause impotence or erectile dysfunction.

Use of drugs, pills, and tobacco: Using antidepressants, tranquilizers, and blood pressure medicines for a long time, being addicted to tobacco, especially smoking, drinking too much alcohol, and being addicted to drugs like cocaine, heroin, and marijuana are all causes of erectile dysfunction.

In Ayurvedic texts, these reasons were written as "rukshamannapaanam tathoushadham," which means "dry meals, drinks, and drugs cause erectile dysfunction or impotence."

Trauma to the pelvic area: Accidental damage to the pelvic area or surgery for problems with the prostate, bladder, colon, or rectal area can cause erectile dysfunction.

In Ayurveda, these reasons are called abhighata, which means "trauma," and shastradantanakhakshataha, which means "harm from guns, enamel, and nails."

Erectile disorder can also be caused by being overweight, riding a bike for a long time, a history of sexual abuse, or getting old.

Ayurveda says the following about why old age can lead to erectile dysfunction or impotence. "Impotence is caused by a loss of tissue elements, energy, strength, life span, inability to eat healthy food, and physical and mental fatigue."

What to do about ED

Any age can get help for ED. In Ayurveda, the full cure for impotence is called "Vajikarana therapy." The name "Vaajikarana" comes from the fact that this treatment makes a person more sexually powerful, like a horse. ('Vaaji'=Horse.)

The results of Vaajikarana therapy are

o Happiness.

O Stay strong.

O The ability to have healthy children.

O Length of erection got longer.

Eligibility for vajikarana remedy.

1. The vajikarana remedy must be given to people between the ages of 18 and 70.

2. These healing methods should only be used on people who are able to take care of themselves. If this therapy is given to a person who no longer has self-control, he will act in ways that are against the law and cause trouble for society.

Psychotherapy

With psychologically-based treatment, ED can be treated by reducing the stress that comes with sex. The person's partner can help with the techniques, which include slowly getting closer and stimulating the person. These things can also help ease anxiety while ED caused by physical problems is being treated.

In ayurveda, the same treatment is shown. People have said, "A pleasant aphrodisiac is a woman who knows a man and is liked by him, along with an erotic setting."

The use of drugs

In Ayurveda, there are many herbal combinations that are used to treat ED or impotence. People who have strong sexual urges and want to be intimate often are said to need to eat these arrangements often to keep their strength, energy, stamina, and power up. These arrangements also give the vitamins that are needed for the production of sperm.

Advice from Ayurveda on how to beat ED

2. Massaging the body with a natural oil that makes you feel better after working out and also makes you feel sexually aroused.
